N and J Guinea Pig Holidays

N and J Guinea Pig Holidays - guinea pig and rabbit boarding  - in Rochford, Essex, was set up in 2009 to provide a safe, friendly pet boarding facility for your bunny or piggy whenever you need us. This could be long or short term - when you're on holiday; moving home; visiting family or friends or during a hospital stay.

We also provide Bunny Day Care if you just need your bunnies to be able to get outside for the day in one of our all-weather runs. Very useful if bad weather, family days out, kid's parties or work commitments prevent them being able to do this at home. (See the Bunny Day Care page for more information)

We are located in Rochford, Essex (approx 4 miles from the A127), and coveniently located for Southend-on-Sea, Rayleigh and surrounding areas.

We have NINE of our own guinea pigs - sisters Toffee, Coffee and Smudge as well as two not so baby piggies - Gizmo and Peanut. Recently we also got rescued piggies "The Spice Girls" Rosemary, Licorice, Nutmeg & Poppy.Your pets will be keeping them all company in our large shed. They will have access to the garden within one of six fox-proof runs with inbuilt shelter, houses, tunnels and toys, and will be spoilt rotten while they are here. The runs are covered so that there is additional protection from the sun or light showers (obviously they are not left out in the pouring rain, but we try to have them outside as much as possible) From the end of July 2010 we will have new runs for bunnies replacing some of the free-standing ones (see  NEW FOR 2010 page for details)

Although the name suggests that we only cater for guinea pigs, we will happily consider looking after any small pets and birds. We have already got experience with  hamsters, mice, gerbils, guinea pigs, rabbits, tortoises, budgies, canaries, Japanese quail, cockatiels, cats, dogs and horses (I'm afraid that we are not able to cater for the last three though!) which we have owned as pets ourselves.

We have many visiting rabbits and we are very happy to have them, however all rabbits MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED, and you MUST bring proof of this with you.

All pets are fully insured while they are here, however there is a COMPULSORY £1.00 per pet per stay charge for this. Many pet insurance policies DO NOT cover your pets while they are boarding, so now you can go on holiday, with the peace of mind that your pets will recieve expert veterinary care, and you will not be coming back to a vet's bill, in the unlikely event that something should happen. (PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS ARE NOT COVERED)

Should you be interested in buying guinea pigs, please give me a ring and I can put you in touch with four lovely ladies where you would have the choice of either re-homing unwanted piggies, or having  home-reared baby piggies. Please do not be tempted to buy from pet shops, where they are often housed incorrectly and can be sold either ill or pregnant!
